Currently archaeologists know very little about the religion of the Indus River Valley Civilization. Because of the lack of religious monuments to indicate specific religions or beliefs, archaeologists can only infer through what little evidence they have. Some believe the religion of the Indus River Valley might be a precursor to hinduism. Bull figures have been found on seals. Archaeologist relate this to Hinduism because of the importance of bulls in Hinduism. Some seals also had swastika which is also found in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. In Mohenjo-Daro, artifacts found have archaeologists leaning towards a polytheistic region. In Harrapa, we were able to obtain many statues of Mother Goddess who symbolized fertility. This suggested that many worshiped her.
